Bahuchara Mata is an Indian Goddess worshiped in West and North India especially Gujrat and Rajasthan.Bahuchara Mata is regarded as Goddess of Fertility and is worshipped by childless couples who wish for a child.She is also worshipped by the transgenders or Hijras who atone for their sins and karma of past and present life. Bahuchara Mata is considered incarnation of Devi Parvati .She is shown as a beautiful goddess with the Trident Trishul in one hand and hindu scriptures on the other hand.She uses a rooster as a vehicle and roosters are considered dear to Her. Navratri is a nine- day Hindu festival celebrated across India in the month of Ashvin of the Hindu calendar. During Navratri people worship Goddess Durga .Navratri ends on Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami which celebrates the victory of good over evil.

Navratri 2022 Dates

According to Hindu calendar, Navratri 2022 will start from 26th September (1st Day) and will end on 5th October.

During Navratri days the devotees worship the nine forms of goddess Durga : Shailputri,Brahmacharini,Chandraghanta,Kushmanda,Skandmata,Katyayani,Kaalratri,Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.

Navratri Significance

Navratri is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. It is believed that the goddess fulfills the wish of devotes and showers them with love and care. It is because of this reason that goddess Durga is also referred to as Maa Durga or Mother Durga.

Navratri 2022 Colours

People celebrate nine days of Navratri by wearing dresses of different colours on each day. These colour of each day is decided as per Hindu traditions. For Navratri 2022 Colours daywise are as below :

Day 1 - September 26,Monday : White

Day 2 - September 27,Tuesday : Red

Day 3 - September 28,Wednesday : Royal Blue

Day 4 - September 29,Thursday : Yellow

Day 5 - September 30,Friday : Green

Day 6 - October 1,Saturday : Grey

Day 7 - October 2,Sunday : Orange

Day 8 - October 3,Monday : Peacock Green

Day 9 - October 4,Tuesday : Pink

Navratri 2022 Celebrations




Navratri is celebrated all over India in different styles and ways of worship. North India celebrates Navratri by installing statues of goddess and worshiping for nine days. In the west particularly states of Maharashtra and Gujrat celebrate by performing traditional dances like the Garba on Navratri. The east states of West Bengal perform Durga Puja to worship the goddess and perform the traditional Dunuchi Nach (a form of Bengali Dance ).One can witness the cultural diversity of India in these celebrations.
